I've been trying to connect my PC to Ethernet for better download speeds instead of using Wi-Fi, but it keeps failing to connect. I tested the Ethernet cable on my girlfriend's laptop, and it works fine. I've done quite a bit of troubleshooting already, including updating my BIOS, reinstalling the Realtek drivers, making sure Ethernet is enabled, resetting my network settings, and restarting both my PC and the gateway. Unfortunately, none of that has worked. I'm at a loss and would really appreciate any suggestions. It also mentions that no DHCP servers are found, but my IP and DNS settings are set to automatic.

Have you tried booting from a live USB with something like Ubuntu? It usually has good driver support right out of the box. If you can't get online there either, the issue might be with your network card or there could be a compatibility problem between your card and the router/modem. If it works fine, then there’s probably something wrong with your Windows setup or drivers—consider a clean install.

How do I go about using Ubuntu?
