I'm pretty new to the PC building scene and I've heard that RAM prices are climbing quickly. I'm planning on building my own PC in late August or early September 2026. Should I go ahead and buy DDR5 RAM now and keep it for later, or is it better to wait?

I'd recommend looking for a deal and only buying now if you find one that fits your budget. RAM prices can be a bit outrageous, and waiting might give you a better chance to catch a drop or a sale later on.
Honestly, it might be better to wait. Prices are pretty high right now and nobody can really predict if they’ll go up or down in the coming months. It’s probably best to only buy when you have enough saved for the whole PC to avoid dipping into overpriced components.

I get that! I just worry that RAM prices will keep rising. It feels like a gamble. Wouldn't hurt to buy a little now, right?
