I'm looking for a desktop Linux system that runs KDE Plasma without constant hassle. I currently have an AMD 9070 XT graphics card, so I shouldn't run into graphics issues. I previously tried Kubuntu on my laptop, but I've faced several issues, like being unable to log in via Wayland, random crashes with X11, and thermal throttling even at mild temperatures. I'm wondering if Debian might be a better fit, or if I should stick with Kubuntu for a more user-friendly experience.

Debian might be a better option for a long-term stable setup. You can customize it to your liking and leave it alone for a while. Plus, with backports and Flatpak, you can get newer software if you need it.
I heard that KDE developers don't recommend Plasma on Debian due to security concerns with how it's managed. So maybe sticking with Kubuntu is safer. Just avoid the LTS version if you can.
I personally recommend Kubuntu since it's built with KDE in mind, giving you a more seamless experience compared to Debian. Plus, there's Tuxedo OS, which is based on Kubuntu and is designed for stability, especially with NVIDIA support.
I actually had a great time using Debian with KDE, it works fine for me!
Debian does use an older version of Plasma, which can lead to issues in functionality. If you're after a more polished experience, Kubuntu might be the way to go.
If you're looking for a stable experience, you could also check out Q4OS, which is Debian-based with KDE and has been well received by users. It's worth a try!

Thanks for the tip! I might give Tuxedo OS a shot.
