I usually have around 50-60% RAM usage while running a couple of apps and several browser tabs. However, today after downloading and extracting some files, my RAM usage suddenly skyrocketed to 95-99%. I've tried freeing up RAM by closing some tabs, which worked briefly, but the usage went back up shortly after. I have 16GB of DDR4 RAM and nothing particularly heavy running at the moment. Has anyone else had this issue? What can I do to troubleshoot it?

First, check your Task Manager to see what's consuming all that RAM. It could be your antivirus software, like McAfee, scanning the extracted files. Sometimes, Windows also starts indexing new files for searches, which can cause spikes. Also, double-check that you didn't extract the files to a OneDrive folder, as that might trigger syncing.

I looked at Task Manager and it shows that 60-70% is being used by one browser, but I only have 4-5 tabs open!
