I accidentally spilled some beer on the upper right side of my HP OMEN laptop. I quickly wiped it off and turned the laptop off immediately. After about 15 minutes, I tried to turn it back on, and it booted up normally, so I turned it off again and flipped it upside down to dry overnight. However, I'm still really worried about potential long-term damage, and I'm not sure what else I should do. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Well, let's be honest—Omen laptops probably aren’t fans of beer! You might have offended your laptop, haha. But jokes aside, just keep an eye on it. If it seems fine for now, it might be okay, but make sure to take care of any potential residue left behind.
First things first, you should definitely open up the laptop and disconnect the battery as a precaution. Let it dry out for a day or two—longer is better if you can afford the wait. After it’s dried, check for any sticky residue and clean it carefully before powering it on again. The fact that it booted up after the spill is promising, but you never really know what could happen long-term with liquid damage. Better to be safe at this stage!
Thanks a lot! I'm really concerned since, even though it wasn't a big spill, I've heard stories about issues cropping up later on. I just hope the motherboard and HDD are safe, even if the keyboard gets messed up.

Haha, it was a good beer though! I spilled a tiny bit, but I’m still pretty on edge about the whole thing.
