I'm looking to upgrade my CPU since I'm experiencing poor performance in competitive gaming. I want to stick with the AM4 platform for now, but I've heard the 5700X3D was the best option. Unfortunately, it's been discontinued, and the used prices are inflated beyond my budget. What alternative CPUs should I consider that can offer similar or optimal performance on AM4? My current setup includes a Ryzen 5 5600X, an RTX 5070 Ti, and 16GB of DDR4 RAM.

Honestly, your best bet now is to grab an X3D CPU or start saving for an AM5 upgrade down the line. There’s not much else left in terms of options that would give you a noticeable boost.
If you can't find any X3D CPUs at a reasonable price, you're pretty much stuck. The 5600X performs similarly to other chips in the Vermeer series for gaming. It might be worth considering if you're okay with the current performance.

I heard AM6 chips are coming soon. Should I just hold out for those instead?
