Is the CMOS Battery Voltage Fine on My New PC?

I just built a new PC and ran HWInfo to check everything, and the CMOS battery voltage is showing between 3.080v and 3.084v on my brand new motherboard. Here are my specs:

- Windows 11 24H2
- AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D
- MSI MAG B850 Tomahawk Max Wifi
- 32GB DDR5 Corsair Vengeance 6000
- AMD Radeon RX 9060 XT Sapphire Pulse
- BeQuiet Pure Power 13M 750W PSU

The manual claims the battery is irreplaceable, but I discovered that if you remove a small plastic pin, it can be replaced. I'm worried about whether the voltage is normal or something I should be concerned about. Any insights would be appreciated!

Right? It’s odd to label a battery as irreplaceable. It’s not that tough to swap out a CR2032, and like you said, you can always remove the heatsink if needed. Some manufacturers really make them harder than they have to be!

I get that! But it seems like they do it for safety reasons, especially after some accidents with batteries being swallowed.

What were you expecting it to read? I thought new motherboards typically sit around 3.1v-3.2v. But your readings are pretty standard.

Just a heads up, voltages like this aren't always precise. There's some tolerance to consider, like ±5% which could mean it’s fine even if it shows a little lower or higher.

You're good! 3V is the standard for a CR2032 battery, so no worries there.
