I'm currently deep into web development with several projects on my plate, handling migrations and various new features. Now, I'm also tasked with creating a mobile app from scratch, but there's no existing mobile design system to work from. The web design system is still evolving and adapting for mobile, making it feel like mobile is ahead of where it actually is. I'm trying to gauge how realistic it is for a single developer to manage both web and mobile development simultaneously without sacrificing quality or speed. I would love to hear about any challenges or bottlenecks you've faced in similar situations, and when it might be better to get more people on board or focus solely on one area. I want to set clear expectations early to avoid overcommitting.

It's tough to pull off two big jobs without some trade-offs, whether in the quality of your work or your own well-being. Just be prepared for that!
You might want to consider using React Native to speed things up, but honestly, you're looking at two separate jobs here. I transitioned from React web development to mobile with the same app, and while I hit the ground running, it’s still a whole new app with its own backlog, so don't underestimate the effort involved.

I hear you! I've just started learning React Native, but keeping up with web changes feels like a full-time job already. Adding mobile into the mix seems daunting!
