Is a 650W Power Supply Sufficient for a 9070XT or 5070?

I'm considering upgrading my graphics card from a 9060 to a possible 9070 or 5070. Currently, I have a MSI MAG A650BN 80 PLUS Bronze power supply, and I'm using it with a Ryzen 5 9600X and a Gigabyte B650 EAGLE motherboard. While the 9070 and 5070 aren't guaranteed yet, I want to be prepared. If I decide to replace my power supply, is the Sharkoon Rebel P10 ATX 3.1 Cybenetics Silver a solid choice?

A 650W PSU should technically be enough for the 5070, and even for the 9070, since your Ryzen 5 9600X is pretty low on power draw. Just keep in mind that the 9070XT pulls about 80 more watts than the standard 9070, so that could be cutting it close.

Honestly, I wouldn't recommend the Sharkoon PSU since it has a C- rating. For something that's closely pushing your power limits, you'll want more reliability, especially with transient power spikes. If you're looking for alternatives, how much more does the Sharkoon Gold or the P20 cost? I'd generally advise to go with at least 100 watts above your estimated draw for those graphics cards, aiming for a B- rating PSU if you can swing it.

By the way, I crunched the numbers, and even with a 9070XT, your estimated draw is around 500W, so your current 650W PSU should handle it just fine!

The Sharkoon is only 20 euros more, which has me considering it even though I'm still on the fence about getting a better GPU. I checked out a PSU tier list, and some popular options weren't included since it was last updated in 2023.

Here's the link to that tier list for reference: https://cultists.network/140/psu-tier-list/.

I think I misunderstood your question. Is the P15 750W Gold model cheaper? Would that be sufficient?
