I'm currently using a Ryzen 5800X processor with 16GB of Hyper X DDR RAM, powered by a 1000W Corsair RM1000x PSU, housed in a Lian Li O11 case, and running an Odyssey G9 monitor at a 5120x1440 resolution. I've been battling BSOD issues for a couple of years. After some troubleshooting, I pinpointed that my previous RTX 3080 was a major culprit. I recently switched to an RX 9070 XT, which has reduced the BSOD frequency from several times a day to only a couple a week, sometimes even less. I've tried reinstalling drivers, tweaking settings, and running Memtest86 (which passed without issues). Over the years, I've replaced the motherboard, power supply, upgraded to a 360 AIO cooler, but I still face BSOD problems. I'm considering a fresh start by upgrading to an AM5/DDR5 setup; however, the current prices are daunting. My main concern is whether buying a Ryzen 9800X3D would be a poor choice with the RX 9070 XT, especially since a 5080 isn't in my budget right now. I want to know if I should invest in the new CPU or go for a 5800X3D and DDR4 instead.

You should definitely consider going for the 9800X3D! I upgraded from a 3080 paired with an 11th Gen i7 to a 9070 XT, and honestly, my FPS in games was underwhelming at first. I ended up swapping out my motherboard, CPU, and RAM for an Asus TUF 870E, Ryzen 7 9800X3D, and 16GB of 6000MHz DDR5. After that upgrade, my performance skyrocketed – I went from struggling at 80 FPS in 2K to hitting 165 FPS in 4K ultra with FSR. Investing in that CPU will really help unleash the potential of your 9070 XT. Trust me, it's worth it!
All that troubleshooting you've done, and it's surprising you haven't checked your main storage device! A fresh install of your OS could have also been a useful step at some point. If you haven’t already, it might be worth running diagnostics on that SSD to rule it out as a factor in your BSODs. Just a thought!
You can use software like Samsung Magician to check the health of your SSD. It gives useful insight into performance and issues.

Good point! I actually replaced my main storage recently, but I still want to test it further. Any recommendations on how to do that?
