Hey everyone! I'm currently using an MSI B550 Gaming Plus motherboard with 32GB (2x16GB) of 3600MHz CL18 RAM paired with my Ryzen 5800X3D and a 7800XT. Given the rising prices of RAM lately, I'm thinking about upgrading to 64GB (adding another 2x16GB of the exact same RAM). I have a few questions: 1) Is it worth it, especially if I can find a decent price? 2) Will I actually see any benefits from the upgrade? I primarily game and do some basic tasks on my PC. 3) Will my system remain stable? I currently have XMP enabled and everything is running smoothly, but I want to avoid needing to upgrade my PC for the next 2-3 years. What would you do? Thanks for your advice!

With the current RAM price hike, I wouldn't rush into upgrading if you don't have a pressing need. If you're not experiencing any limitations with 32GB, you're probably fine. The Ryzen 5800X3D generally doesn’t heavily rely on RAM speed, and not many games can effectively utilize over 32GB.
Just a heads up—using 4 RAM sticks can sometimes lead to slightly slower performance (maybe 3-5%) compared to using 2. So, ask yourself if you need extra speed or just capacity. With a gaming build like yours, it’s hard to believe 32GB would be insufficient.
I'm not having speed issues at all; everything runs smoothly. I just want to be ready for the future! But I think sticking with what I have is the way to go.
Before you decide to upgrade, think about whether you're actually running low on RAM. If you aren't feeling the need for more memory during your gaming sessions, it might not be necessary to splash out on additional RAM. Remember to use sticks from the same kit to ensure compatibility if you do go for it.
It's from the same kit, so compatibility won't be an issue. Honestly, my current setup feels fine, but I'm just thinking about future-proofing.

Thanks for the advice! I think I'm going to hold off for now.
