Looking for Guidance on Motherboard Selection for a Workstation Build

Hi everyone! I'm in the process of building a workstation and need some help picking out a motherboard. I have a few key requirements: it should have two PCIe x16 slots for GPUs, an NVMe CPU slot, several SATA slots on the chipset, and preferably support for quad or 8 DIMMs. I'm also leaning towards wanting an Intel NIC and I'd like it to be Linux-friendly. Any suggestions or thoughts would be greatly appreciated!

Which CPU are you planning to use? Also, what's your budget looking like?

I'm thinking about going with an AMD Ryzen, but I haven't settled on which one yet. I want to keep the total build cost between $4,000 and $5,000.

Make sure to check the PCIe lane counts for your CPU, as this affects how the GPUs will run—either at x16 or x8. Also, verify that ECC memory support matches your CPU and motherboard combo. Don't forget to check if your case can accommodate E-ATX boards if you're going with a larger size. Intel NICs are usually a solid choice and work well with Linux!
