Hey everyone! I'm looking to upgrade my system and need some advice on installing a Samsung 990 Pro 4TB NVMe M.2 PCIe Gen4 SSD. Here's what I have:

- **Motherboard**: Asus ROG Strix E870-A WiFi
- **Processor**: AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D
- **Graphics Card**: Asus TUF Gaming GeForce RTX 5070 Ti

I would like to know which M.2 slots (M.2_2, M.2_3, or M.2_4) are available for this SSD. Specifically, does M.2_2 share bandwidth with the PCIEX16 slot (making it run at x8), and what about the other slots? Can I install the SSD on M.2_3 or M.2_4?

Check your motherboard manual for the specifics. It will tell you which slots share lanes and how to best configure your SSD for optimal performance.

According to the specs for the Asus ROG Strix E870-A, M.2_2 does share bandwidth with the PCIEX16 slot, meaning if you use it, that slot will run at x8 instead of x16. M.2_3 will disable the PCIEX16(G4) when occupied, leaving M.2_4 as the only one available to use without any restrictions.
