I'm using an MSI B450 Tomahawk Max motherboard and a Gigmatek G20A fan controller, which has an ARGB connector according to the manual, but it only has 4 pins. Is there a way to control the fans through the motherboard using software?

For my RGB setup, I use a product like this: https://shop.aquacomputer.de/Monitoring-and-Controlling/farbwerk-for-RGBpx/farbwerk-360::3798.html. It connects via a USB header and works with the Aquacomputer RGB connectors or 5V ARGB, giving you software control.
Your motherboard likely only supports 12V/4 pin RGB connectors, while the hub requires a 5V/3 pin setup for ARGB. You can get powered hubs that allow RGB control, but keep in mind they won't be addressable through software, as they'll only work with manual settings on the hub itself.

That’s odd, the hub’s connector has all 4 pins and no blank ones like the ARGB connectors do. So I'm puzzled about that.
