Thinking of Upgrading My GPU: Need Suggestions

I currently have a gaming setup with an AMD Ryzen 5 3600 CPU, GeForce RTX 2060 GPU, Tomahawk 450 MAX motherboard, and 16GB G.Skill V RAM. Lately, I've been playing games like League of Legends, Battlefield 6, and recently, Arc Raiders. I've noticed a lot of micro lag during fights in Arc Raiders, and my GPU utilization hits over 90%. I'm considering upgrading my GPU but I'm also open to advice on other components to look into. My budget is around $350-$400, and I'd like to gradually upgrade everything over the year. What GPUs should I think about?

Check your CPU and RAM usage while gaming. If either is maxing out, you might want to upgrade those first. For RAM, 32GB is ideal these days. If it turns out it’s the CPU holding you back, I’d suggest the Ryzen 7 5800X. However, if it’s truly the GPU, think about getting a used 4060 Ti or a 6700 XT.

What software do you use for monitoring? I should check my own setup to see what's bottlenecking.

I have a similar setup—an RTX 2060 Super and a Ryzen 7 3700. I was thinking of just grabbing a 6700 XT or a 4060 Ti for now. My CPU seems fine, but with GPU prices the way they are, it’s tough to spend that much. I might wait until after Christmas.

Yeah, I’ve noticed that too! RAM prices could spike further, so it might be worth upgrading sooner.

Totally get that! The prices right now are just wild.

If you're looking for a solid upgrade, consider building around a Ryzen 5 5600X or 5700X, paired with a Radeon 6700 XT. That setup has served me well for 1440p gaming for a couple of years without issues.

That sounds like a solid plan! I’m actually going for a similar build for my own gaming setup.
