Why Is My High-End PC Struggling with FPS?

I'm really puzzled about the performance of my gaming PC. Even though it has high-end specs, I'm experiencing low FPS in several games. I can't seem to get the frame rate past 85 FPS, and it often drops to 50 FPS, even when running on 1080p mid settings. This issue is happening with various titles, such as Battlefield 6 and Arc Raiders. I've tried adjusting various settings and resolutions, but nothing seems to change it. Here are my specs:

- OS: Windows 11 (64 bit)
- Motherboard: B550 AORUS PRO AX
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 9 5900X (12-Core)
- RAM: 64 GB
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3090
- Storage: SSD Samsung EVO Plus 970 (500GB M.2)

I've attached some screenshots for reference as well. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

It could be a CPU bottleneck, especially if changing settings and resolutions isn't improving things. Do you have background applications running that might be affecting performance?

No background apps besides Chrome and Discord.

Make sure your BIOS is updated and check if you have Resizable BAR enabled. That optimization made a significant difference for my performance in newer games.

I haven’t checked my BIOS yet, but I’m looking into it now.

Have you checked if there's an FPS cap? Sometimes games have built-in limits that you might not notice right away. Just a thought!

TechWizard77 -

Nope, there's no cap. It fluctuates between 50-85 FPS. It drops to 50 when there's a lot going on.

I've heard that Battlefield 6 has had some performance issues after the last update. You're not alone if you're experiencing drops there; many players are reporting similar problems.
