Concerned About My iPhone 14 Pro’s Rapid Battery Degradation

Hey everyone! I got my iPhone 14 Pro in September and noticed the battery health was at 87% when I first received it. Fast forward four months, and now it's dropped to 80%. I don't game much and try to be careful with how I charge it, but I do use a dual charger from my MacBook that supports fast charging. This drop feels significant in such a short time. Is this level of battery degradation normal, or might there be something wrong? Has anyone else experienced a similar decline? I'd appreciate any thoughts you might have!

Honestly, that battery might be toast. Based on what you've described, it seems more common than you think. If you’re in a colder area, like Canada, that could be affecting it even more. Temperature can really impact battery performance!

You might want to check the battery cycle count using a tool like this shortcut. If it's around 500 cycles, that's pretty much normal, as Apple designs their batteries to maintain about 80% capacity after that many cycles under ideal conditions.

If you've done any updates during those four months, the battery percentage may have recalibrated and become more accurate. It could be that your battery wasn’t really at 87% initially, and now it’s reflecting a more accurate figure. So don’t worry too much about that spike; it's usually just an estimate that gets better after updates.
