Help! My Rainbow 6 is Stuttering and CPU is Hitting 100%

I'm experiencing some frustrating stuttering issues while playing Rainbow 6. I have a Ryzen 7 3700X paired with a 3070, and I usually enjoy around 180 FPS while playing. Until recently, I had no problems. Now, the game freezes, and I notice that my CPU usage spikes to 100%. I've tinkered with various settings, but nothing seems to provide a lasting fix. One temporary solution I've found is restarting the game when it starts lagging, which temporarily brings my CPU usage back down to normal. Does anyone have suggestions on how to resolve this?

You might want to run Rivatuner to check if there are any temperature issues with your CPU. High temps can definitely cause performance hiccups. Keep an eye on the numbers while you're gaming to see if that might be the culprit.

Are you talking about temps during gameplay or just general? What should I be looking for in terms of CPU and GPU temps?

It seems like the problem isn't primarily linked to resolution; increasing it beyond 1080p can definitely impact your FPS. What you're likely experiencing is a CPU bottleneck, meaning your CPU struggles to keep up with your GPU. You might need to consider upgrading your CPU, or if you've been gaming fine for a while, check the CPU temperature. It could be a thermal paste issue or thermal throttling that’s affecting performance.
