How to Create a Password-Protected Folder or Zip File on a Flash Drive?

I'm working on a fun ARG (Alternate Reality Game) as a gift for my boyfriend, and I need some help. I'd like to password-protect certain files on a flash drive, while leaving others accessible. I've already tried using 7-Zip and some coded locker options, but I wasn't successful. Does anyone have any suggestions on how I can achieve this?

7-Zip is a solid choice for creating password-protected zip files; I use it all the time at work. It even has an option for self-extracting .exe files, which means the recipient won’t need any special software to open them.

Have you thought about using PeaZip? It can block access to the password-protected files. Just a heads up, though—there might not be a visible popup to enter the password when accessing those locked files.
