I'm having a problem with using the Twain driver on our Windows 11 laptops (specifically on version 22H2). We can connect our Fujitsu scanner 7600 via USB, and it works perfectly with WIA. However, when we try to use the Twain driver, it fails to scan. Interestingly, if we run it as an administrator, it scans just fine. What permissions or privileges do I need to adjust so that local users can also scan without needing admin rights?

Check to see if Windows Defender is blocking the Twain driver—that can cause scanning failures. You might need to add an exception for the driver in Defender's settings.
It sounds like your laptops should really be updated to at least version 23H2 for better security and fewer bugs. But regarding your scanner issue, some folks have found success by installing the Twain driver correctly through the device management settings. Make sure you have the latest Fujitsu driver before you proceed with that. It's a common fix for problems like this.
I recently tackled this same issue on a Fujitsu 7612 and had no problems with the Twain driver installation. Just curious, what exact build of Windows are you using? Also, have you checked if you're using the 64-bit version of the Twain driver? That sometimes makes a difference.
I think there’s a similar issue reported for version 24H2 as well. You might want to check articles dealing with that on the Fujitsu support site. They might offer some insights relevant to your version too!
