I recently got a new PC and during the initial setup, my download speeds were impressive, around 150-250 Mbps. However, after I closed and reopened Steam, my speed plummeted to just 1-7 Mbps. I'm using a USB Wi-Fi adapter with a 5GHz connection and have reset everything I could think of. Any idea why this happened?

Have you checked if there are any background applications running that might be using your bandwidth? Sometimes other programs can hog the internet and cause these slowdowns.
It sounds like your ISP might be throttling your connection because they detected a big download. This can happen if you're downloading something large or if your usage spikes. You could try downloading during off-peak hours or consider speaking with your ISP about it.
