Recommendations for a Non-Gaming CPU for My New PC Build

I'm planning to build a new PC primarily for work and web browsing, and I don't need it for gaming since I have a PS5 for that. I want to use 32GB of RAM and need a CPU with an integrated GPU. The most demanding tasks I'll be doing are writing and keeping multiple Chrome tabs open (usually around 90 tabs!). I initially considered getting an 8600G because it's affordable and has a solid integrated GPU, but now that DDR5 prices have skyrocketed, I'm rethinking my options. My current system has 32GB DDR4 3200 RAM, which I can reuse, and I think its performance will be sufficient for my needs. What Intel CPUs can I look at that support DDR4 and are comparable to the 8600G? Thanks for your input!

You might want to check out the latest Ryzen CPUs that have integrated graphics, like the 5700G or 5600G. They’re really responsive for work and should handle basic gaming like DOTA 2 and League of Legends without a hitch. Plus, I’ve seen good deals on B550 motherboards that are compatible with DDR4. You could save a bit by grabbing one of those instead of going Intel. Just keep in mind that it might be a good idea to cut down on your Chrome tab habit, haha!

Definitely consider Intel's newer offerings too! For productivity and some light gaming, a CPU like the i5-12400 is a solid match. It runs on a DDR4 motherboard and delivers great performance without breaking the bank. Plus, it can handle multiple tasks with your heavy tab usage!

If you're looking for something more budget-friendly, I'd suggest keeping an eye out for CPU and motherboard bundles, especially at local retailers. You might not find a Microcenter, but some online stores offer great deals with savings on combos. For your needs, an Intel CPU should serve you well, but remember they generally run a bit hotter, especially if you're in a warm environment.

I appreciate the tips! Since I'm not in the U.S., I'll have to look online for those deals. What Intel CPUs are still available that support DDR4 and fall in the same performance category as the 8600G?
