I just got an Ethernet cable to improve my game streaming on my MacBook Pro, but I'm confused because my upload speed is only 0.50 Mbps with the cable, while my download speed is 160 Mbps. Without the cable, I get 60 Mbps upload and 9 Mbps download. I suspect that since I'm connected through a TP Link instead of directly to my router, it might be affecting my upload speed. If I buy a power adapter, will it boost my upload and download speeds to above 100 Mbps? Or is there a better solution without having to connect directly to the router, given that I can't run a wire throughout my house? Also, just to clarify, I'm looking to improve my latency, not just FPS.

Have you checked what your internet provider says your speeds should be? Run multiple speed tests to compare. Just getting a power adapter or another tool might not really change things if your ISP limits your upload speed. Switching from Wi-Fi to wired might help a bit, but it depends on what you need those speeds for and what you're actually uploading.

I'm using the setup to stream games from my PC to my MacBook. Without the cable, it gives me around 90 Mbps for both, but with the cable, I'm seeing 200 Mbps download and only 1 Mbps upload.
