Hey everyone! I recently got a 2080 Ti from a family friend, and I'm curious about how well it performs for gaming these days, considering it's getting a bit older. I'm definitely keeping it since it was a free upgrade, and it's perfect for my budget. I also plan to build my first PC, so if you have any tips for beginners, I'd really appreciate it! The 2080 Ti is still a decent choice. Its only downside is that it’s a bit low on VRAM compared to some newer cards, but 11GB is better than the 8GB in cards like the 3060 Ti. Just keep in mind it might struggle with 4K ultra settings, but for 1080p, it should do just fine! Also, consider switching to the Thermalright Phantom Spirit cooler—it’s just a bit more expensive but offers better performance. And by the way, don't overspend on your motherboard. You can find good alternatives for a more reasonable price.
Do you have any specific motherboard recommendations?
The 2080 Ti is still a solid card! According to benchmarks, it performs similarly to newer models like the 5060. You should have a couple more years of good gaming with it before needing an upgrade.
Sounds great! I plan to use this GPU for about two years until I upgrade, so that's good to know.

Thanks for the advice! I already bought the Assassin Spirit cooler, but I appreciate the motherboard tip! I’ll definitely look to swap that out to save some cash.
