My PC Turns Off While Gaming and Won’t Stay On, What Should I Do?

I recently had an issue while gaming where my PC shut off suddenly, accompanied by a slight burning smell. It's a little over three years old, and now when I try to turn it back on, it only runs for about half a second—the fans spin, then it shuts off again. The Ethernet port still has a flashing light when plugged in, but that's the extent of it. I've checked for visible burn damage on the components but didn't find anything. My first guess was the power supply, so I replaced it with an identical model, but the same problem persists. Since this is a pre-built PC and out of warranty, I'm not very experienced with troubleshooting and removing parts. There's also a tricky wiring situation with a CPU wire going behind the SSD, making it awkward to manage. Is there a way for me to diagnose which component may be causing the issue, or is my PC irreparable? Thanks for any suggestions! Here are my specs: Case: LIAN LI LANCOOL 215, CPU: Intel i5-12600, Motherboard: ASUS PRIME H610M-A D4, RAM: 32GB Corsair VENGEANCE, GPU: NVIDIA RTX 3060 Ti, SSD: 2TB PCS PCIe M.2, Power Supply: CORSAIR 650W.

Another troubleshooting step is to unplug all USB devices except your keyboard and mouse. Then try removing the SSD and see if you can boot into the BIOS. Dying SSDs can sometimes cause boot issues. If that doesn't work, check your RAM by removing one stick at a time and testing them in different slots.

It sounds like your power supply might still be the culprit, or it could potentially be your GPU. If you have access to another PSU, I’d recommend testing it out. Also, consider borrowing a friend's PC for a quick check—sometimes that can help identify if your power supply or GPU is at fault.

Have you tried removing your graphics card and testing to see if the system powers on without it? Make sure the PSU is unplugged while you’re doing this. If it does turn on, it could indicate a problem with the GPU. If it has integrated graphics, maybe try connecting to the motherboard output.
