Hey everyone! I'm currently using a MacBook as my main computer, and I love how it looks and feels. However, since it's a laptop, I can't play graphically intensive games, and I find macOS pretty unintuitive with a mouse – I much prefer using a trackpad. To make matters worse, I bought a Windows PC a few months ago, and every day it frustrates me more. Now, I'm seriously considering switching to Linux.
I'm completely new to this and would love to test out Linux in a virtual machine before making a final decision. I'm looking for a distribution that can mimic the macOS experience, with a focus on gaming – I need to run Roblox because I develop on that platform, so it's a source of income for me. Stability is crucial too; I can't deal with Windows forcing updates that break my systems (like the sleep function on my PC).
I've heard there can be hardware issues with Linux, but my specs are pretty solid: I have an RTX 4070 Super, an AMD Ryzen 7 CPU, and 32GB of RAM. Any recommendations on which Linux distros I should check out? Thanks in advance!

You might want to check out Gnome or KDE with an OS X theme – they can give you that familiar look and feel similar to macOS. Out of the box, Gnome tends to be more aligned with macOS aesthetics. Plus, both are pretty good for gaming if you set them up right!
Are Gnome and KDE actual distributions or just desktop environments? I'm still learning about all this Linux stuff!
Just a heads up, most MacBooks can be finicky with Linux, but since you're running a Windows PC, you should be good! Just focus on the distributions that have solid support for your hardware.

They’re desktop environments, not full distros. You can use them on distributions like Ubuntu, Fedora, or openSUSE.
