I've been using my computer for 7 years and it's starting to feel slow, though it still works well overall. The specs are as follows: Intel Xeon CPU X5570 at 2.93GHz, 48GB of DDR3 RAM, a 500GB Samsung SSD, and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 graphics card with 6GB of memory. The fan gets a bit noisy sometimes, and I'm currently running Windows 10. I'd love to know what upgrades would make the biggest difference in performance, and I've got a budget of around $500. Any suggestions?

Your Xeon limits options due to its single-core performance. However, if you're looking for a boost, consider a graphics card with more VRAM. That said, testing is key—VRAM hasn’t been an issue yet, but based on what you experience, more VRAM could help in some scenarios. It might be time for a bigger upgrade, though!
I’d recommend keeping your graphics card and case since they’re still pretty solid. Focus on the processor and maybe add some additional cooling if things are getting too noisy. Those are the major areas for improvements.
If you’re open to switching systems, a MacBook Pro offers great performance and is super reliable. Just a thought!

Thanks for that! I hadn't looked into VRAM limits before, but your advice makes sense. Sounds like I need to think about a more major upgrade!
