Is it Better to Keep the OS and Games on Separate SSDs?

I'm building a new gaming PC and have a plan to use a 500GB M.2 SSD for my operating system, Discord, Steam, and similar applications, while storing games and videos on other SSDs. I'm transferring one M.2 and two SATA SSDs from my old PC, giving me a total of 8TB of storage from these three drives. I'm facing space issues with my current game library and am also considering adding a 2TB SSD in the future. My main question is whether I should stick to my original plan and keep the OS and games on separate drives for better performance and organization, or would it be more cost-effective to put the OS on a 2TB drive and install some games on it too? If I do go for the larger OS drive, is it a good idea to partition it for the OS and apps on one side and games on the other?

It's not a must to separate them, but I personally prefer keeping games on a different drive. This way, even if I need to reset Windows, I can easily access my game library without hassle. Makes life a lot simpler!

Exactly! I just upgraded to a new system and my Steam library was ready to go with just a couple of clicks since it was on a different partition.
