I'm on the hunt for a mid-range motherboard for my i7-12700K build that utilizes DDR4 memory. Since I won't be overclocking and my setup will mainly serve as a server performing multi-core workloads, I don't require any fancy features like WiFi or extravagant PCIe slots. However, I understand the importance of having solid VRM performance. I've found the Gigabyte B760 Gaming X DDR4 at a reasonable price—is it a suitable option, or are there better alternatives?

If you're looking for something a bit higher-end, I recommend the ASUS TUF Gaming Z690 Plus WiFi D4. It’s a well-built board, but do keep in mind that it’s usually pricier and might be hard to find in stock.
Check out the MSI Pro B760-P WiFi DDR4. It's one of the most affordable boards that supports DDR4 and comes in an ATX form factor. You can filter options on PCPartPicker to find similar boards.
That board seems solid! I noticed it has better VRM than the Gigabyte, so it might be a great choice.

True, it’s definitely a better board, but the price difference is significant compared to the MSI Pro.
