I recently got my hands on an older CAD workstation, and I'm planning to refurbish it for a family member. It seems that the laptop is supposed to run Windows Pro for Workstations due to the Xeon W-11955M CPU it has. However, I believe I can get away with installing Windows 11 Home instead. Does anyone have tips on how to make that work? I'm avoiding Linux since my family member is not tech-savvy and only speaks their native language, so sticking with Windows is essential for them.

You should be able to install Windows 11 Home without much hassle! Just go for a standard installation. The CPU should support it, but keep in mind that you might need to tweak some BIOS settings.

I heard the same thing, but make sure to check the BIOS settings just in case there's a restriction. It might be locked down for a reason.
