How can I fix my PC’s stuttering issues?

I'm having some serious trouble with my PC and could really use your help. Here are my specs: I'm running Windows 11 on an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5090 graphics card, powered by an AMD Ryzen 7 9800X3D processor, with 64GB of RAM and a 1.8TB SSD. This computer is about a year old and has been performing well, even running demanding games like Monster Hunter: World without a hitch. However, things started going downhill around late October. I downloaded a game called Labyrinthine and it started stuttering during play, which was odd because my system usually handles more intensive games just fine. I didn't think much of it until I realized the same stutter happened in a game I previously had no issues with, and now it happens across the board—even on the lowest graphics settings. I suspected a bad NVIDIA driver update might be the cause, but nothing seems to be fixing it, and it's affecting my PC even outside of gaming. I'm not very tech-savvy, so I'm worried about potentially causing more issues while troubleshooting. Can anyone guide me on how to resolve this stuttering problem? I just want my PC to work properly again without the risk of damaging anything or buying new components.

If your system was making loud fan noises before and has gone quiet now, that's definitely a suspicion. Make sure those fans are clean and functioning, and if not, it might be time to replace them. Regular maintenance can go a long way in keeping performance smooth!

Have you checked if your BIOS settings or other software might be affecting performance? Sometimes updates or changes can cause unexpected issues. Also, remember to back up your data before making any changes, just to be safe!

It sounds like the stuttering might be related to overheating or a cooling issue. I’d recommend checking if your fans are actually spinning. Sometimes dust can clog them up. Use a tool like hwinfo64 to monitor temperatures while you're gaming and see if they're getting too high. If the fans are silent or not working, that could be a big part of the problem! Just make sure to keep an eye on the temps - overheating could really cause performance issues.

Good advice! If the fans aren't spinning, it might be a sign they're failing or there's a connection issue. Also, try cleaning out any dust from the inside of your PC—you'd be surprised how much that can help!
