Hey everyone! I'm diving into the world of PC building for the first time and I could really use some guidance. I've heard prices are likely to rise, so I want to get started soon. My PC will primarily be used for gaming, with a little bit of work on the side. Right now, I don't have any components aside from a mouse, as I'm currently using a laptop.
My budget is around €1500, but I can stretch it a bit if it means getting better performance. I live in the Netherlands and I mainly play games like Arma 3, Arma Reforger, Squad, and Ready or Not, along with some CS2, and occasionally Fortnite and Apex. I also like single-player games, but those are less frequent.
I want a high refresh rate monitor—ideally around 240Hz, but I'm open to suggestions since I'm a bit uncertain about what my FPS will be and how much monitors cost. A refresh rate of 180Hz might be more realistic? I'd love to hear recommendations on whether I should go for 1080p or 1440p.
Performance is my top priority, so I'm not too worried about RGB or aesthetics, although a nice-looking build is a bonus. I do need a decent amount of storage, especially because Arma 3 can require a lot of space—I'm currently sitting at nearly 500GB just for mods! I think I'll need at least 2TB of storage, maybe even 4TB, so that I don't have to constantly uninstall games.
Any advice or suggestions on PC parts would be greatly appreciated, especially from veteran builders! Feel free to share your builds from PCPartPicker! Thanks in advance!

I recommend checking out PCPartPicker for some guidance on building your rig. You can sort by region, so make sure to set it to the Netherlands in the settings. There are a ton of builds shared by others that could help you get ideas for your budget. Also, consider the balance between GPU and CPU since most of your games benefit from a solid CPU. Let me know if you need specific part recommendations!

Thanks for the tip! I've actually been looking at PCPartPicker and started to create my build list. If you have any recommendations for a good CPU that won't break the bank, I'd appreciate it!
