I'm trying to decide between the Intel i5 14600K and the i7 14700K for gaming at 1080p on low settings with my 5070 Ti. I know everyone recommends the 7800x3d, but that's not the route I'm taking. I'm curious if the 14600K will provide enough performance for CPU-heavy games like Battlefield or Arc Raiders. Will it be future-proof, or do I need to invest in the i7 for better performance?

Both the i5 14600K and i7 14700K are based on the same architecture, so they have similar capabilities. The i5 will perform quite well, especially with the 5070 Ti, and it'll be sufficient for most games. If you aren't planning to overclock and have a decent DDR4 setup, you might not see a huge difference. Just keep in mind that as you move to higher resolutions, the performance gap could narrow even more.

Got it! I wasn’t planning on overclocking either, so that makes me feel better about the 14600K being enough.
