I'm preparing to return my PC and want to make sure all my files are wiped clean. I went through the installation process already, but I didn't manually delete any files beforehand. Since I couldn't reset my PC through the settings earlier, I'm hesitant to log in to check. Any insights on whether installing from a USB will erase everything?

If you have a Dell system, there's a secure erase option in the BIOS to help wipe the drive, which could be handy for your situation.
Whether your files are erased depends on the options you select during the installation process. If you don’t manually delete the partitions, your data should still be there after installation.
It really varies with what you classify as 'wiping all files'. When you do a fresh install, it generally formats the designated drive, which is similar to deleting everything normally. Just keep in mind that the data could still be recoverable unless it’s overwritten.
To completely wipe your drive, you need to format all the partitions in the installation wizard. If you’ve done that, then yes, all your data should be gone.
If the old drive remains connected during the setup, the installer will give you an option to keep your files or perform a fresh install by deleting everything. Just be sure to select the right option!
