Are SATA SSDs Still Worth It?

I've just built a new PC and I'm using an M.2 SSD alongside my old BX500 (120GB for the OS) and a 1TB HDD. Recently, my HDD started making some screeching sounds, so I think it's time to replace it. I'm considering getting a SATA SSD for non-game applications and extra storage but I've heard the BX500 is DRAMless and not the best choice nowadays. Should I still go for it, or are there better options you would recommend? By the way, I'm located in Europe, which might matter for pricing.

You should definitely take action sooner rather than later. SSD prices have been going up recently, and they could continue to rise. As for brands, I personally recommend Samsung for their reliability, though you'll find some others that are solid too.

I think you should consider going for an NVMe SSD instead. They're faster and can really help with overall performance, especially if you're using it for applications.

That sounds like a good option! Just seems a bit pricey for basic use though.
