I'm currently upgrading my pre-built PC but recently got a friend's old PC for $200. It's working great and has these specs:
- Motherboard: MSI x470 Gaming Plus Max
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 2600X
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti
- RAM: 16 GB (2x8)
I've heard that the 1050 Ti is lagging behind in performance these days. I'm considering swapping it with the GPU from my other PC, which is an AMD Radeon RX 570. Would I notice a significant performance boost with this upgrade? I know it would be ideal to get a newer card, but I'm looking to hold off until I can spend about $300-400.

The RX 570 should be a solid upgrade. Just install it and see how it performs. By the way, is your friend's PC using an HDD or SSD? That can also affect performance.
Absolutely, you'll definitely see a solid bump in performance by switching to the RX 570! It's an upgrade that's worth it, especially while you wait to grab a newer card.
Sweet! Thank you!
For sure! The RX 570 is roughly 40% faster than the 1050 Ti. Also, if you can find a used or open box RTX 3060 12GB for around $220, that would give you even more boost than either card you're currently considering.
Thank you! I'll keep my eyes open.

The one from my friend has two 1TB HDDs and a 500GB SSD. The Cyberpower PC has a 1TB HDD and a 250GB SSD.
