Hey everyone! I've been working with a Java backend and web stack for about 7 years now. I'm starting the recruitment process for a product company that primarily uses Node.js on their backend. They seem like a great fit, offering a decent salary, engaging projects, and opportunities for skill growth. They're totally fine with my lack of Node.js experience as they value my general computer science skills and eagerness to learn. I understand that being tech agnostic is beneficial and being adaptable to different stacks is essential. However, I'm a bit anxious about whether switching to Node.js is a smart move. If I decide to shift back to Java in the future, would that pose a problem? I've noticed some companies want recent experience with specific stacks. Even after changing jobs, I'm committed to participating in open source projects within the Java ecosystem and staying updated on Java advancements. What do you all think?

Definitely go for it! At your level, being adaptable and learning new technologies will help you grow. The experience you gain with Node.js can only enhance your skill set!

Are you suggesting that I just take the leap and join this company using Node.js?
