Good morning everyone! I'm looking for a way to stream a monitoring application to several smart TVs in a building. I've got a PC ready to mirror the screen, but I'm not sure what the best solution is. Is there a decent way to do this over the network? Any suggestions would be appreciated! Thanks!

For digital signage, we’ve been using this great setup that utilizes multicast, allowing multiple receivers on one VLAN. If you have more than one transmitter though, you'd need separate VLANs for each. Check out the devices from Monoprice—it’s been reliable for us!

Nice! I love the suggestion about multicast.

What’s your budget and how long do you need this set up for? If it’s a permanent install, there are professional solutions out there. But if it's just a one-time thing, you could get creative depending on how far the TVs are from your PC and whether you have Ethernet drops in place.

Have you considered using HDMI over Ethernet? It really depends on a few factors like how many TVs you need to connect and how far apart they are. But it’s definitely a solid option!

Yeah, we just set it up like that and it worked perfectly. Just make sure to put the port in the right VLAN and you’re good to go!

And don't forget about what switches you’re using; that can impact your setup a lot.

The simplest approach might be to just use a meeting app like Teams or Zoom to share your screen. If that doesn’t work, think about streaming through something like YouTube or any app that supports browser streaming.

I’m not entirely clear on what you mean by ‘monitoring application,’ but if your goal is to control content on multiple screens easily, you might want to check out MAWI. It runs on an NVIDIA Shield, which you can connect to any TV. It’s user-friendly and pretty cost-effective. Plus, depending on your Smart TV, you might not even need the Shield!
