Is a UPS Necessary if I Have Solar and Battery Backup for My Gaming PC?

Hey folks! I've just got myself a high-end gaming PC and I'm trying to figure out what kind of power protection I should have. I live in Puerto Rico, where my setup includes solar panels and a home battery. When there's a power outage, the battery kicks in quickly enough to keep my PS5 running. My main worry is preventing any hardware damage, rather than continuing to use my PC during outages. I'm wondering if low voltage could potentially harm my setup. Do I really need a UPS?

A surge protector should be enough for your setup, honestly. Since your battery kicks in fast during outages, you likely won't need a UPS. Just use a good surge protector to shield against voltage spikes, and you should be fine.

What surge protector would you recommend for a powerful setup like mine that has a 5070ti and Ryzen 9 9900x?

Totally agree, never felt the need for a UPS either. For gaming, a surge protector is usually all you need unless you're working on something crucial.
