I'm building my first PC and trying to decide between AIO and air cooling solutions for my Ryzen 7 9800X3D. What are some good options, and what should I consider when making my choice?

For great value, you should check out the Thermalright Peerless Assassin Evo. It's performing really well without breaking the bank!

If you're leaning towards air cooling, the PA120SE is my go-to choice. It has solid performance and is really reliable.

Honestly, either option will suit you just fine. The Noctua air coolers are durable and require zero maintenance, while the AIOs like the Arctic Liquid Freezer III are among the best for cooling performance. If aesthetics matter, you might favor an AIO, but if you want something long-lasting and low-maintenance, go for an air cooler.

Both AIO and air coolers can handle the Ryzen 7 9800X3D nicely. AIOs might offer slightly better cooling and look great, but air coolers are typically cheaper and more reliable in the long run. It's really down to personal preference for looks versus budget!

I've been using a Thermalright Phantom Spirit 120 with my 9800X3D and it's been fantastic. My case is a bit small, but I’ve got adequate airflow with two intake and two exhaust fans. My temperatures remain stable, and it's pretty quiet too. Just keep in mind that smaller AIOs can be more about looks than actual temperature performance.
