I just got a secondhand 2TB HDD, but my drive bay is already full. Can I put this HDD at the bottom of my case and secure it loosely with something like tape or a zip tie? Will this keep it safe from damage?

Just stick some foam under it before taping it down to absorb vibrations. It'll work just fine!

I've even glued and taped drives in my setups in the past, and they'd held up just great. Yours will do just as well!

Yep, as long as you secure it and maybe add some padding, it should be perfectly fine. Just keep in mind that now might not be the best time to upgrade to larger drives given the current market.

If it’s an older HDD with moving parts, make sure it's secured well enough to avoid any movement. A little double-sided tape can work wonders. I had my setup like this for 7+ years before upgrading to an SSD.

You're good to go! I've taped and zip-tied my drives before without any issues. Just remember not to move your PC too much while it's on, and make sure it doesn't vibrate while in use.
