I'm looking to buy a GPU that will be reliable for the foreseeable future, especially with all the uncertainties out there. Currently, I have an RX 6800 with 16GB of VRAM, and I play games at 1440p. I'm considering a few options from both new and second-hand markets, and I'm curious about which one would be the best investment considering future VRAM requirements, upscaling capabilities, ray tracing, and other relevant features. Here are the options I found:
**New:**
- Acer Nitro 9070 (16GB): 830 CAD (before taxes)
- ASUS Prime 9070: 799 CAD (before taxes)
**Second Hand:**
- ASUS 4070 Super: 650 CAD
- ASUS TUF RTX 3080: 500 CAD
- ASUS Dual RTX 5070 OC: 700 CAD
- XFX Radeon 7800 XT/Gigabyte 7800 XT: 550-580 CAD.
Given these choices, what do you think I should go for?

I'd go for the 4070 Super or the 5070. The 9070s are just way too pricey compared to these options.
Before the end times? I think we might have some time left before things get really rough. But if you're worried about future availability, you might want to just grab the best GPU you can afford now, like a 5090. They could become incredibly valuable if production stops. Aiming for at least 16GB of VRAM and an Nvidia GPU is a good call, especially with the AI boom driving demand. Out of your list, I'd recommend the 5070.
It really depends on your budget. The 9070 is probably the most future-proof option with its 16GB of VRAM, but at 100 CAD less, the 5070 offers solid performance, albeit with 12GB of VRAM, which is a bit less future-proof. The 7800 XT is decent, but its ray tracing isn't great compared to the 9000 series. If money isn't a big issue, I'd stick with the ASUS 9070.
If you're fine skipping ray tracing for some savings, the 7800 XT could be worth it for you!

I want to use ray tracing, but I'm okay with sacrificing that for a cheaper option. So should I just go with the 7800 XT?
