I'm trying to figure out if there's a reliable way to play Hill Climb Racing on my Linux setup. I've run into a few issues: Wine doesn't support UWP apps, Waydroid isn't working for me on Mint (Cinnamon) with X11, Google Play Games only supports Windows and Android, and there's no .exe version from the developers. I've attempted to get Waydroid working through Weston, but it just gives me a black screen and crashes most of the time. Any suggestions?

Considering you're on Mint and have issues with Waydroid, I would recommend trying Genymotion (the Personal Edition is free). It runs well as a standard window on your desktop and is compatible with X11, without the hassle of messing around with kernel modules or Wayland compositors. Since Hill Climb Racing isn't resource-intensive, it should work smoothly for you.
If you're struggling to get it running, have you thought about alternatives like playing on websites such as poki.com? Or you could try out YouTube’s game feature in the browser.
Cinnamon has an experimental Wayland session. You can access it by logging out and selecting the mountain icon at the top right of the password box. It's a bit unstable, but could work specifically for running Waydroid.
Just keep in mind that Genymotion's docs mention it performs best with Wayland. You might run into issues with X11.
