I'm having a frustrating issue with my HP ProBook 450 G9 where it stutters every 27-30 seconds while playing games like Hollow Knight and Black Mesa. I've ruled out thermal throttling, as I'm monitoring temperatures and they seem fine. My power settings are set to Performance mode, and I've updated to the latest BIOS, even though I didn't want to—things were running well before that. I have 32 GB of RAM, and I recently switched from Windows to Fedora, thinking the problem might be OS-related, but the stuttering persists on both systems. I've attempted various GPU fixes on Fedora without success. It feels like this issue is likely related to the BIOS or firmware, particularly with the Embedded Controller causing GPU stalls. However, I can't seem to downgrade the BIOS firmware. I'm at a loss and just want to enjoy my games without these irritating stutters. Any ideas or solutions?

Have you checked if there's an option in the BIOS to switch from hybrid graphics to just using the integrated GPU? Sometimes that can help with performance issues in games.
Unfortunately, the HP ProBook 450 G9 doesn't have a dedicated graphics card; it uses Intel Iris Xe Graphics only. The stutters might be due to how the laptop handles graphics under load. Have you tried adjusting the graphics settings in your games, maybe lowering them a bit could help?
