Is an RTX 5070 TI a Good Temporary Upgrade for a Ryzen 3700x?

I'm thinking about building a new PC but I'm feeling pressured to buy a GPU soon before prices spike again. I'm considering getting an RTX 5070 TI as a temporary solution while I search for the best parts, especially a used DDR5 kit at a more reasonable price. My current card is a 1080 TI, and I'm wondering how much performance I'd actually lose with the 5070 TI. I primarily game at 1440p with a 21:9 aspect ratio and want to play titles from the last few years at max settings. I'm okay with using frame generation as long as it doesn't come with too many artifacts. I have 16GB of 3600MHz RAM, probably CL16.

Consider upgrading to a Ryzen 5000 series if you can, or switch to Intel's 13th or 14th gen. They support DDR4, so you wouldn't have to ditch your existing RAM just yet. It might give you better performance overall without pushing your budget too much!

Thanks for the suggestion! I didn't realize that switching to Intel could work with my current DDR4. I'll look into that!

You should be fine with that setup! I'm currently using an RTX 5070 TI paired with a Ryzen 3700x, and I haven't faced any issues. It'll be a decent upgrade from your 1080 TI, especially for playing games at max settings in 1440p. Just make sure your PSU can handle the load!
