I'm having a really hard time getting Linux installed on my computer. Every time I try to flash a Linux distro onto my USB drive, I run into problems. Either the drive gets write-protected and doesn't work, or I get an error saying I need to load the kernel first and that /vmlinuz is missing. I've tried several distros like Arch, Bazzite, Zorin OS, and Ubuntu, but nothing seems to work. Any advice?

What tool are you using to flash the drive? Sometimes the flashing software makes all the difference.
Just a heads up: you can't simply copy files onto the USB drive. There’s some specific setup needed for the drive's partitioning. What program are you currently using to create your bootable drive? That could be part of the issue.
You might be dealing with a faulty USB drive, especially if it’s not booting at all. I’d suggest trying out Ventoy for flashing; it handles multiple distros pretty well. If that doesn't work, maybe you could just switch to another USB stick and use tools like Etcher or Rufus instead.
