Hey everyone! I've narrowed down my GPU options to the 6900 XT or the 5070, but the 5070 is about $300 more in New Zealand dollars. I plan on gaming at 1440p and want my build to handle the upcoming GTA 6 with decent frames per second. I'm transitioning from an Xbox One, so I'm not aiming for extreme FPS or 4K gaming. I've also considered a 3080, but I'm concerned that 10GB of VRAM might not be enough for the long haul. Any thoughts would be appreciated!

It really depends on what games you're planning to play. If you're into online games like Fortnite right now, you might not need the extra power of the 5070. However, for upcoming titles like GTA and Battlefield, having a bit more horsepower could make a noticeable difference. Just consider your gaming habits!
In terms of pricing, the 6900 XT is about $750 used, while the 5070 is running for around $1000 used. If you're budget-conscious and the 6900 XT meets your needs now, it's a solid choice without breaking the bank. Just keep an eye on how demand changes for future games.
That’s a fair point! I think it’s also worth considering how long you want the card to last. Paying a bit more for the newer tech could pay off in a year or two.

Yeah, I get that! I'm currently playing mostly competitive games, but I'm also excited about the new AAA titles. It’s good to future-proof your system!
