How Can I Increase My Computer’s Storage for Gaming?

I'm currently using a prebuilt gaming computer with only 500GB of storage. I'm looking to expand my storage options but I'm feeling a bit overwhelmed by the different types available like external HDDs and SSDs. Can someone walk me through the process of upgrading my storage? Ideally, what should I consider if I mainly use my computer for gaming?

If you want more space, the storage choice depends on your needs. I use about 4TB for all my files on my PC. For gaming, a 1TB or 2TB SSD should work, especially if that's all you need.

I only need around 1TB or 2TB, so that works for me!

Just follow these simple steps: Buy a new hard drive, then install it in your computer. If you're not comfortable with installation, an external hard drive is a great alternative since it's user-friendly—just plug it in, and you're set.

If you want to store games, just grab a new SSD. A good option is the Evo 860, and you could look at getting either a 1TB or 2TB, which should be sufficient for most games.

How much are you planning to spend on this upgrade? A decent 2TB SSD can generally be found for around $150 CAD, which is a solid choice.
