I've recently transitioned from Windows and have been using a VeraCrypt vault. I opted for the VeraCrypt AppImage instead of installing the .deb package. The AppImage works perfectly for mounting the vault. However, when I try to use Gear Lever to make VeraCrypt look like a native app, it doesn't work. The process fails during the attempt to gain sudo privileges; it prompts me for my vault password, then asks for the admin password, and ultimately fails to secure admin rights. I suspect this issue stems from Gear Lever being a Flatpak, which might limit its privileges. I'm currently on Pop OS 24.04 with the Cosmic desktop environment. Any help would be great! Thanks!

I faced a similar issue with the VeraCrypt Flatpak on Fedora and decided to use the rpm instead. Is there a specific reason you can't switch back to the .deb package? By the way, I've heard that Zulucrypt can also open VeraCrypt files and it's available in the software store—maybe give that a shot!

Actually, it's worth mentioning that Gear Lever is working with the AppImage, not Flatpak. It just creates links to make the AppImages seem like installed applications. There might be a permissions problem when using Gear Lever, though. I understand the .deb package for Ubuntu 24.04 should work fine, but I thought the AppImage would be a lighter option without needing a full install.
