Need Help Setting Up Minecraft and Other Software on Manjaro

Hey everyone! I recently dual booted Manjaro on my TUF Gaming FX505GT and I'm looking to set up a content creation suite for Minecraft. I've got some experience with Linux from my high school days when I used to dualboot Ubuntu, but it's been a while. I'm working with a friend who's a software engineer, but I want to manage some of the setup on my own without overwhelming him.

Here's a list of programs I want to install:
- Minecraft (I found a guide on installing it)
- Cubiomes
- FileZilla
- Kdenlive
- OBS
- Gimp
- Chrome
- ASUS for Linux (for some hardware support)

I'm also hoping to set up keyboard shortcuts for quick access. Here's what I'm thinking:
- Minecraft: 🤖 + M
- Cubiomes: 🤖 + U
- FileZilla: 🤖 + F
- Kdenlive: 🤖 + K
- OBS: 🤖 + O
- Gimp: 🤖 + G
- Chrome: 🤖 + C
- ASUS for Linux: 🤖 + A

Additionally, I want to restore the functionality of my FN + F key combos, like quickly turning off the screen, switching power modes, and disabling the trackpad. I'll update this post as I figure out what works! Thanks in advance for your help!

For installing software on Manjaro, you’ll want to use the 'Add/Remove Software' tool, which is basically the app store equivalent. Just search for the name of the software you need, hit enter, and you’ll see a list. Click the download button, then hit 'Apply' to install it. Most of the programs you mentioned should be available there, including Cubiomes.

Keep in mind, for Minecraft, you might need Wine if you’re running a specific version not natively supported on Linux since it’s owned by Microsoft. But there’s also a cool Minecraft alternative called Lunati if you’re open to it!

Thanks for the heads up! I actually installed Gimp already, so that’s sorted. I’ll check again for Cubiomes though. I’d prefer to avoid Wine and Windows if possible, especially since the Minecraft site mentions Linux support. Just a heads up, the guide I followed might be out of date since I faced some issues during install.

Once you’re comfortable, you might want to check if there’s a newer guide or forum discussion for installing Minecraft on Manjaro. Sometimes community forums could have updated info since the official guide might not be in sync with the latest versions.
